Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

office politics

I’m being increasingly iced out by an SVP — removed from key business calls, not receiving responses, and no longer being included in important projects. Visibility and opportunities now appear limited to a small group who closely follow directives and have direct access to the SVP.

@xh BS. Ethics doesn't do anything and you won't be protected. HR, Ethics, all of them work for Citi - not you. Ethics complaints are very easily dismissed and usually are. Unless it's blatant discrimination, your boss not talking to you and not including you in projects could easily be explained by preparing you for other work or simply showing you aren't needed and are redundant and can be let go. Nothing ethical about it - at least legally. Does it illustrate how shifty Citi is? Yes.

Document every incident and keep a log. You can then raise with Ethics Office and you will be protected from RIF and other sanction while your allegation is being investigated.

I did experience similar situation, it takes time but sooner or later these favorites arent able to deliver and yes at some point they transfer the work to u but still get the credit. When work comes to you document everything , do skip level 1 on 1 show your work.

ALL SVP practices exclusionary favoritism by isolating competitive talent and prioritizing a specific in-group based on caste and language. It caused significant attrition in our site

sure.... it’s the same story everywhere, isn’t it? happened to myself and some others just before getting the boot... you’re lucky enough to still have a job for now, though who knows how long that’ll last...
