While you are correct you are missing point of most of these posts
This is true at least in the US. We are at will employees that can be fired at anytime for any reason as long as it does violate one of the protected classes (age, race, religion, etc.)
And you are right this true everywhere (in us). But the big difference between Globalfoundries and Amazon, FB, Intel, etc. is they don’t perpetrate a false system or narrative as blatantly and confidently as Globalfoundries. Let’s be honest, Globalfoundries straight up lies to us all the time about nearly everything. Sure the other places did too, but to the degree and magnitude that is present at Globalfoundries. At Globalfoundries everything is a little shady. The other places here and there you uncover some odd things, but not everything. It’s not the same. GF force feeds us inaccurate misleading statements on nearly everything. Some you can choke up to incompetence (roll out of international ipo purchasing - aren’t we a global company?) but most of it is nefarious misdirecting, gaslighting and straight up lies. It’s all over GF in nearly every facet and corner. And most definitely impacting our individual personal careers and jobs.
So I do hear what you are saying. But it isn’t the same as other places you mentioned. He-l half of those are returning to prepandemic employment numbers. Most of those placing went on skyrocket hiring sprees in last 2-3 years. Not us.
So it isn’t a smart or d-mb thing - these posts are just pointing out the blatant unabashed lies we are all told with almost co--y swagger. From macroscopic to microscopic lies. It’s just plain wrong. It’s toxic. It doesn’t happen at other places to the level it does within Globalfoundries. So sure have a thick skin and don’t swallow everything you are told by your manager. But when you to second guess and question everything that is sad, well then it’s time to leave.
