Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

What has changed?

What has changed at Oxy that has made this site so inactive and boring? Any theories?

I got a bad cold after posting once, and my friend developed a rash. Not sure if either was a direct consequence but I’m suspicious.

Has there been any company policy announced about consequences of posting on these sites?

Actual HR poser here. Poser97 is only posing as an HR poser. Poser97 impersonator is posing too. How do I know? We don’t ghost computers. We use secret microphones to check on employees. Also, poser bonuses are direct deposit only. Come on man!

Poser97 impersonator here. Too bad the real Poser97 wasn’t that good in ghosting my computer, otherwise, he would have stopped me before I picked up all his bonus 💰 from HR.

How did you find out about HR posers? It’s supposed to be a tightly kept secret.

Signed: Not an HR Poser.

I am in HR and we are actually paid a small bonus for each time we get on this site and pose to be a happy employee. It’s not just me, but the whole department. Not only that, from time to time we ghost your computer to make sure you’re actually working and not surfing the net. Beware!

Everbody got tired of Oxy HR posers, saying how great the company was. So much so, that it seemed to be a deliverable for HR employees that was required by management.

You have heard of silently quitting, right.
Well this is what it looks like.

Good point on the stock. Why were most of the other oil company stocks up today and Oxy was down. Could it be the lack of dividend is hurting the stock price. It is clear that
the workers and execs don’t care about the company ripping off the stockholders because it just doesn’t matter to them. Let’s just take more and more of the stockholders equity and give it away as bigger bonuses, raises, options, perks, etc. the only thing we can see is that the other oil companies don’t do this.

“There haven't been any layoffs, there are no layoffs in the future, salaries and bonuses are up, stock price is up, opportunities abound. There isn't anything for the whiners to whine about.
Except for the WFH whiners - they are still around”

Stock price being up depends on your reference date/price. Oxy’s stock is down almost 10% from the date they made offer for Anadarko and the dividend has been cut significantly. They have underperformed their peers since that time. I’m just hanging around until the bonus and LTI vests in Feb and then I’m taking my talents to South Beach.

I found my time working for US based oil companies was that after Thanksgiving week staff starts to wind down heading toward Christmas and the New Year. Folks have banked vacation time that needs to be used. I expect activity will pick up in January.

People working at Oxy didn't like hearing the truth by those willing to tell it?

Maybe the majority of us are actually happy with our jobs and the company.
