@ds Highly unlikely PK wasn't out of the loop. If so, then his Canon days are numbered. Go Packers.

How can a company have an "office of diversity and inclusion" with only one ERG focused "women in leadership levels"?

@dd Canon still has an office of Diversity and Inclusion. Nobody cares what the "current administration" thinks about it. Losing most of the women in leadership positions does not bode well for the future of Canon and its ability to recruit top-tier talent (if that's even a priority anymore). Seems like a continuing reduction in headcount and further reliance on vendors is the intention. Thereby making a few people even more wealthy by stealing the wealth and livelihood of its former employees. The American way...

@df you really think PK had something to do with this? read the room .....

@dc Wouldn't be surprised if PK knew and probably signed off on it. It's obvious that anyone in any leadership position, regardless of gender, was perceived as a threat to PK, especially institutional knowledge. If anyone got severance, you won't hear a peep about who, what or why to keep it quiet and off the radar. And don't be surprised if very few folks got severance and threw them into the street.

Makes one wonder if Canon is doing all of this for someone else to acquire them.

Sammy-Sun and PK read this: you su-k.

Yesterday’s hits included 2 zone vice presidents (west and central) and at least 7 regional or sr directors. Each of these people held massive amounts of institutional knowledge and experience inside canon, the old csa and other divisions. Probably more to come. Absent of leadership the teams may devolve, get frustrated, get no support, make no $ and self deport out of the industry or to a competitor. Is that the long term objective? Now that most of the women leaders in sr positions are gone - what will happen to our women in leadership initiatives and career advancement opportunities? I wonder if DV or PK knew or was this done without consulting them ahead of time?

From the messages I’ve received from people still there - it’s bad. The reduction is horrific as it impacted some of the best leaders I’ve worked for over the years. Sad day for the team and culture.

I have noticed some people who are normally very hyper at year-end seem to be more subdued this time around. They must know the writing is on the wall and there’s no point in busting their stones just to be kicked in the nuts in the upcoming weeks.

And it begins. Headwinds in my dept. looking pretty bad right now and even management mentioning they have no idea what their role will be in 2026 and seeming really irritated about it. We'll all be walking on eggshells Thursday and Friday remote next week...
