2023 US Holiday Calendar?!

Why is HR so late in posting the US holiday calendar? Officially 2 weeks until end of year and still missing the US holiday calendar. My bet is the half days are being reconsidered…

@ktfv+1kd654am - Basically:

all half-days are now full days.
one floating holiday to use at your discretion (Juneteenth, vets day, etc)
Aug 18 is a mental health day

How many extra days did they give (recently left aig)? They tend to only do things that benefit themselves so do t get why they would give more vacation days unless they plan on revamping the pto policy.

Days off are an easy benefit for companies to provide, as your work will still be there when you return.

The catch? You will be dealing with 3rd world, 3rd party staff that don't care....you will need the days off for mental sanity.

Glad they did this...I'll need them.

Wow! I guess that was worth waiting for. Many more holidays than prior years. But makes me think - what is the catch?!

AIG’s HR is the absolute worst there is. They routinely sc--w up the easy things. PZ should look at retooling HR and their sorry excuse of employees. Don’t give excuse of being offshored as what team wasn’t these days!!!

It’s amazing that it took HR a whole year to sc--w this up.

Yes, I heard they are trying to list the mental health BS days in the official holiday schedule which is causing the delay.

Sounds like the possibility of more holidays based on the prior posts. Wondering if more holidays will be the justification for another year with salary increases that are below the rate of inflation and peers. As someone opined regarding mental health days, the additional days cost the company nothing since the work will still be waiting for you the next day

You’d lose that bet.

This is what happens to HR when you lose most of your talent and outsource indiscriminately overseas. Can’t even get a holiday schedule released.

Anything out for USA? Any word if we're getting a day for New Year's Day, either a closed day or PTO ?

That makes sense since there are several bank holidays that AIG does not give as paid time off in the Americas. I'll take it.

I heard that they will be adding some additional days off in 2023, but hadn’t finalized which ones

I would rather work and live in the US with less holidays than live in "other countries" and have more holidays. We have it so good in this country......with what I have seen abroad....we live like kings compared to some. I'll always take more money though...can't hurt! Lol.

I noticed the same and while searching I looked at some other countries. Here's my question: With all the talk of equity and inclusion, while do the US employees have so few days in comparison to other countries? I think some are close to four weeks of holidays. Do employees in those countries get fewer PTO days so holidays plus PTO days are equal?
