I've been at HP for many years and I'm practically begging to get laid off. It'll never happen because of supposedly contractual agreements. Plus being in Canada HP save 25 cents on every dollar. Plus everyone I work with is extremely Tech smart and HP knows this. Take for instance the AT&T contract. What Rio Rancho couldn't figure out we did in less than a week and that was over ten years ago and AT&T has never looked back. Plus all the other contracts get amazing support from this team. The real reason no one gets laid off in Canada is because HP would have to give out a months pay for every year served up to a maximum of 22 months pay. So I'm sc--wed I have to keep working listening to d-mb American id--ts every day.
The "SS HP Titanic" is taking on water and beginning to head downward. Better get off before the whole thing submerges later this year or next.
So glad I left when I did. The "glory years" of HP have been gone for a long, long while.
I bet the OP is a media troll trying to get information from gullible employees.
If you started investing in HP ten years ago, you would be gaining money right now.
If you started investing in HP five years ago, you would be losing money right now. With some of their competitors, this isn’t the case with them making triple digit percentage gains over five years. They also have god-knows how much debt they have.
This leadership is a disservice to their investors. The board should vote out Enrique ASAP.
In other words US CWs who make at least 10% of a million or more (+ $100,000) get cut.
I was involved in many layoff exercises in the company. This is basically how it works on a highlevel view. Each dept/functions gets a reduction targets eg 10% reduction in $ and HC, but what really matters is meeting the $ reduction goals. MY job is to figure out who to cut to achieve the target $ without severely affecting productivity.
Enrique recently announced 4000 to 6000 people getting laid off in the next three years. This comes at a time when he did the same thing in 2022 to 2025. I was part of that crowd in 2023. He wasn’t bluffing. Many people got laid off around the same time I did.
HP tends to lay people off the most from January to March and from June to September.
So I expect a few hundred people to get go every quarter. Some quarters more than others. Who exactly will get let go is difficult to predict. I frankly haven’t been keeping up with their earnings since I’ve left. My bet is likely business organizations that are performing poorly with profit margins and high operating costs.
HR is likely talking to directors and VPs on who to chop based on prior performance reviews for any given individual contributors. Retirement packages will be offered/forced upon. The usual jazz.
Never is a good time to be at HP but I expect this company to shrink their portfolio even further and really spend a lot of time honing in on a viable strategy. HP needs new leadership. They have been severely underperforming.
