This used to be a good place to build a career, but now it's just a short-term stop to acquire the necessary skills to get a better offer somewhere else and run away. The future of the company looks pretty bleak. Can you even imagine what the company could look like in five years?

For the person asking about the FTW DC, I have heard that it will be shuttered after some time. I have been there before and it was a great DC.
For 18 years here - hopefully your are making a good 6 figure salary and are talented enough to get that outside this sh*t show otherwise your being here will not be of any benefit in the long run.
Making it 18 years is a milestone. Hopefully you can take your PTO and leave your work phone at home. I’m happy that you were able to get all the benefits and can now game the system to your benefit.
Having a work life balance is important. Everyone knows that there is no workplace happiness anywhere, but this is a good forum up complain and let it all out because no one cares here.
What is the future of the Fort Worth location will it shutdown after the DC exit ?
evey company is firing people lately, not going anywhere any time soon I guess
To the first post, no one believes this is your first visit to this site and no one believes it will be your last so stop being dramatic. If you started here out of college and have been here 18 years then that makes you a lifer and right around 40ish. You are seen as the problem by management and you no doubt have a target on your back. You had better come up with plan b for the rest of your career before you get too old to be marketable. You already have the black mark of working for AIG for way too long. I wouldn't bet on a package for an 18 year career. That costs way to much. There are cheaper ways of cutting you lose.
Before 2008...yup...workplace happiness did exist. I was able to make my happiness last to 2012....then the crummy stuff started and has not let up. I have been here a long time and have seen the best of AIG....and this is not it.
For some sure…. Personally, I am going on 18 years. In fact, it is the only place I have worked since graduating college. I have a frozen pension waiting, maxed out 401k contributions, 40 days of PTO, and an excellent overall work life balance.
My day to day is far from perfect and far from satisfying like it once was but as soon as I feel that I can’t possibly take any more, I take some PTO and cherish my short-lived escape. If I am shown the exit sign soon, which seems likely to be the case, I’ll gladly take my severance and chill the fu-k out for a bit before beginning my new journey.
So, cheers people and do yourself a favor and stay the fu-k off this sight! A colleague just directed me here and I’ll make it a point to never visit it again. You all have an insatiable desire for workplace happiness. Does that even exist?
