You haven’t been fired, your job has been eliminated (even though they back fill the position a few months later with a less experienced, lower paid person while justifying it under A3M restructuring). That’s how PSD USAC business organization became Little Canada over the past few years. Local management responsible for 20% of the regional volume (Canada sales) was positioned to direct 100% of the overall USAC business. Interesting how that Canada based Director who did this reorg and the French VP above him who supported the decision were eventually invited to leave 3M. Too bad they already destroyed the careers of others who got in their way.

Sacred time.

This was borderline blasphemy and arguably insulting to the things people truly hold as Sacred.

They did correct it with the term "tier". But they spelled it wrong. It should be spelled "tear" because all you could do is cry about the waste of time you'll never get back.

You get bonus points if you can string many buzz words together and say them quickly. After you listen to the ramble, you find yourself asking what did he/she/they/them just say? (Trying to be inclusive)

Stay the course
Change the play
Thrive in change
Support each other
Hold the line

There are individuals that made careers out of slinging of buzzwords. It was actually sickening to see advancements without producing work or outcome. Being a part of a team that tried to conduct a project was enough to win a promotion to VP in the last decade.

Polish the tu-d.

This was told to me by a manager who knew the data looked terrible but needed a good spin.

on exiting PFAS.......

This action is another example of how we are positioning 3M for continued sustainable growth by optimizing our portfolio, innovating for our customers, and delivering long-term value for our shareholders

“Legacy PFAS”

As if this garbage is your departed grandmother’s bequeathed jewelry.

As if the ramifications of making this stuff for eons somehow magically disappeared when 3M decided to phaseout in the early 2000s, in favor of “contemporary” PFAS (now being phased out a quarter century later).

Per 3M Dec 20, 2022 pfas press release: "Opportunity to lead."

I'm seeking to understand what this means in the context of pfas.

Interpretations please?

A plant operating committee member said this during 2017 SAP deployment. We'll it's almost 2023 and still not deployed. Lmao

Seek to understand.

I'm seeking to understand how a company I was so proud of and spent over half my life and 30+ years at could go so terribly wrong

I love it when the boss makes a very unpopular decision and then uses the old "if you had all the information that I had, you'd have made the same decision too." What he really means is "I get my cr---y info from my 3M bosses who claim it gospel" LOL

So the decision to give everyday wins points for christmas bonus and then summarily fire the person on a Friday makes sense? Pass the psychedelic 'rooms along with more of that 220 bldg Kool aid.

Paradigm shift and We are Wining! Highly subjective and very weak folcrum on how 3M measures. CONSTANT excuses on why we cannot do things or spend money to fix basic equipment and PM's not being necessary or value added.

Favorite euphemisms:

(1) playbook = cutting budgets and jobs, nothing more
(2) take action = could mean investing for growth or doubling down, but only has one meaning these days = cutting budgets and jobs
(3) creating two world class companies = we need cash to attempt to fend off a potential enterprise-wide bankruptcy due to two company crushing sets of lawsuits.
