To me quiet quitting is saying nothing and just leaving! Why do anymore work if you've already given up? I don't see how continuing to do work for a company can be considered quitting. I was never into the softer language that helps people deal with reality. When I made the decision to quit, I did it! I didn't decide to quit, then go home and cry about it till I came back the next day to think about some more. - @dwr+1k92opcn

I agree that the softer language that helps people deal with reality is just prolonging the agony. However, maybe they aren't able to leave even though they would prefer not to spend another minute at UP?

Jobs are out there. Ive been offered jobs by former coworkers who quit. One was in tele comms, his boss really wouldnt leave me alone. At that company his comm techs all complained except the former UP employee, the former UP employee kept telling everyone “its better than UP”. The shortline G&W railroad contacted me also, again bcuz a former coworker told him too. I dont have too long to go and I dont want to sell my house and move so I am still here for now.
Unfortunately a toxic work environment seems to be becoming the norm in a lot of different companies. It seems most companies are largely profit driven anymore.
I like to quietly let a stink stink out when I go in crew room
Creative destruction is moving too rapidly to believe the jobs of today will be available much longer on the railroad. Unless you have 5 years left like checking on RRB it would be wise to start looking into other career fields.
Am not looking for another job. Have 5 more years until retirement.
