Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Many people are leaving

A lot of my colleagues have left recently. Everyone feels that the coming year will be very difficult at AIG. I advise everyone to keep their eyes wide open and always look for something better because there is no such thing as a guaranteed job.
However, isn't it sad that fewer and fewer people are still interested in keeping their jobs here?

In response to the poster likening this company to the Vietnam War is untrue and ,frankly, uncalled for and offensive to those whom served

US Armed Forces ki---d 3+ million of the opposing forces and we lost 58,479 brothers and sisters.

When get rifted, go visit The Wall

The Politicians lost the War, not the troops
Sort of like this company…..upper management is selling out the workers at AIG

I don't believe this group really cares how AIG ends as long as it lasts 5 more years. Listen to PZ's recent town hall. Very vague, non-committal on the future. Only knows that things need to change and change they will starting Q1 2023.

The link below is of 3 professional soccer players vs 100 kids. The lesson is 3 specialized persons get the job done over throwing a bunch of untalented persons at a task...this is AIG now.

AIG reminds me of the US military during the Vietnam war. As you lose field leaders one by one the next lowest rank steps in regardless of experience or qualifications until you eventually have the blind leading the blind into battle while the Generals sit back and spout about how well the war is being waged.

In the end, the Vietnam war didn't end well and neither will AIG.

AIG keeps promoting how well it succeds with DEI initiatives. But where is the pay equity, AIG? Why the secrecy around pay ranges for each level? NY new law was a step in the right direction and if the below link from R&I about employers who crow about DEI initiatives but fail to back those up with actions are a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Promotions will be for who remains, because they don't hire people from outside anymore, they are giving also senior management roles to external consultant just to avoid hiring at all... Sure, a lot of people are leaving but this fact rise opportunities for who have a shell hard enough to resist the storm. Aig has a profitability problem, we either will survive or perish

I already jumped and I don’t feel guilty about it at all. If they wanted to keep me, they would have treated me better by pushing me in my career instead of dumping loads of work with no raise or promotion.
