Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Perhaps this was a much needed kick for most of us...

The experience of a person who was laid off earlier this year:

Announcement was made March 8 and our last day was August 7, 2022. We had to train the Mexico replacements for 5 months if we wanted our package. We also had to sign a confidentiality agreement to not bad mouth the company during this phase. After my severance was over, Pepsi sent a survey if I will continue buying their products? I was like........ you got to be kidding. Today, I'm at a Fortune 10 company using my degree and creating a very nice nest egg. I thank God everyday for that lay-off. It opened my eyes that Pepsi never cared for me. Post ID @fhm+1k2Mw8Du

I'm still feeling rather negatively about being laid off. However, it may turn out very quickly that it is good that we are no longer part of this company...

Not all CPG is like PepsiCo. I worked in the sales & sales strategy at Purchase and multiple locations across the country for 16 years. I have been at another huge CPG Food Company for the past 7 years - and it’s night and day. For me it has been way better. I love my job the work and the people I work with. I never lose sight that I need to do what is best for me and my family and while I love my current situation I know things can change fast and I could be out in the blink of an eye.

Pepsi at times was a fantastic place to be and had great culture - but overall for me in the end it was not worth all the time, stress, anxiety & depression - so I left. If your not happy - get out - not easy but YOU CAN DO IT!!

Diversity scorecard more important than competence. My group trumpeted our diversity, meanwhile competence went right out the window. Experience required? Nah! If you're a double minority, you're better than people with 10+ years of experience. Someone leaves? Let's offshore their job to India or mexico.

Don't check any boxes? See ya.

The stuff that happens behind closed doors at Pepsi is alarming. I remember a L10 that applied for a director role and was wondering why he didn't even get to interview. He found out that he was blocked by the hiring manager cause she didn't like him and wanted her bestie to get the job. If the American public only knew.

Why "pour" yourself into a place that doesn't give one "ounce" about you? This question may be irrelevant to the post, but just a question in general to anyone still employed by this place.
