Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Stop the su----e posts.

Over the past 2 weeks, I’ve seen 2 posts from users claiming they’re Fidelity employees who also claimed they wanted to commit su----e. One reason for being soon to leave Fidelity. Another for believing they are unfairly compensated. I know Fidelity has a special way of draining people but SERIOUSLY?

Look, whoever reading this right now, do NOT make a post here about su----e. I’m going to assume whoever makes this type of post is telling the truth. These posts make me genuinely worried about people who work at Fidelity. Anyone walking around the office could genuinely feel this way, and no one would be able to tell.

Your trauma is valid and it’s ok to say if you were wronged. As much as I want to tell whoever says this “then just leave Fidelity”, we’re talking about 2025. Job market isn’t as bad as the late 2000s yet, but still pretty bad. If you’re at Fidelity and having these thoughts of taking your life attributed to your job, you have a few options

  1. Leave Fidelity. Yes, I know I just said that’s not viable. Fidelity’s name still holds a lot of good reputation to people. That name on your resume can help you big time. Work to the SP level, find another job in the meantime, and then leave. If you feel gutsy, go network in the office with people, telling them you’re searching for a new job. You’ll be surprised how many people will know people out of Fidelity, that can help you find a job on the outside. You may think “why are you telling me to tell people at my job I’m looking for a new job?” Keep in mind, I did say “if you feel gutsy”.
  2. Don’t look at this website. If your goal is to leave Fidelity anyway, why would you need to come here to check out what’s going on? No one’s gonna come to the layoff.com to spread positivity. You need less negativity. Don’t surround yourself here. This will not help you exit Fidelity, if you desire to exit Fidelity
  3. Specific to people who think of su----e because of their job, call or text 988 and speak to them. They can talk to you and be there for you.

Again, we never know who’s feeling this way in our office. It could be a very outward and happy person, it could be a very introverted, no matter who they are, anyone could feel like this. Fidelity might be making people not feel nice, but just be nicer to people you see in the office. If you’re a workplace bully, you probably don’t realize it, and you’re a je-k. Just be kind to people.

Take it easy, everyone. Thank you for reading.

I’d be cautious about what you post on social media, including here.

If you indicate that you intend to harm yourself or others, HR or relevant government or city agencies can legally request your IP address from the site’s owners and may send police to your location to perform a wellness check.

This is a place to vent and rant. I'd say post here however you like if it makes you feel better. Just don't do stupid things in real life.

Like the gentle person who offered to meet up with a ranter earlier, there're those of us who genuinely listen and care.

Good post and I was thinking the same thing. We don't know what is going on in people's lives but a job is never worth your life and trust me there are other jobs & companies out there. I find the issue a lot of people have is that by working hard and being loyal will be rewarded or recognized and sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't.
