The entire leadership needs performance counseling.

@OP, You should bust your a$& as hard as you can and even ask for more work. It’s very important that you prove yourself. Also, be very friendly and open to your management as they will take that as a positive attitude.

I thought performance cycles were after the Christmas break? Feels like we just got out of mid year....

I was wondering when this would hit. All people performing at the lower levels in PD were subjected to an assessment of whether they needed to be put on a PIP or not. This was assessed in August and September.
Follow the advice: work hard, but also look for other opportunities outside of Ford. The leadership team sent a clear message to you and you are not someone they value.

Sorry @OP. Focus on getting a new job outside of Ford.
Don’t be fooled into thinking if you work hard you can get off the Performance Plan.
Your leadership team has quotas and if they remove you from the Performance Plan they will need to replace your name with someone else’s. That means they are admitting they have multiple poor performers. Not gonna happen.

You will still get severance pay when terminated, read the Ford HR webpages for the termination policies.

@bc

I mean dont even bother doing the best you can. They've made thier intentions known. Why give them any more? Pips or things like it aren't anything but advanced layoff notices. Do as minimal work as politically feasible. Send out resumes. You'll be fine without Ford.

@OP Just tell HR you are working on relocating to another country and are going to apply for an H1B visa so you can work in the US and you'll be fine. BTW you didn't get "PIPd. You got PI---D!

This is the kiss of death at Ford. It is easier to find another job while still employed. Start sending out resumes ASAP.

If you got a formal notice of performance counseling, you're pretty much done for. Get to applying as fast as you can while trying to do the best you can in your current role. You've been marked to get the boot for cause and you won't get a package. Sorry this is happening to you but put your head down and get moving before the ax falls to avoid having the stain of getting fired.
