Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

I Was LR'd Yesterday And Went To Cisco NYC Office Today To Collect Personal Items

Office is empty like always with WFH for all
No management or staff, just a receptionist from temp agency shopping online
If Cisco didn't waste millions to fix and pay rent, I may have kept my job
Good Bye Cisco-Looking forward to converting my customers to whichever competitor I decide to join

Can only imagine how high the rent is for an office that no one visits

The only time anyone comes to the NY office is to kiss up to Fran when she flies to NYC for one day on Chuck's private plane buy diamonds at Cartier Diamond Store on 5th Ave

With the imminent transition from field reps to virtual sales along with firing of commercial AM's based in NYC Cisco needs to sublease the space since survivors WFH anyway

The Banks and Wall Street used to be Cisco's largest NYC customers and they are in office 5 days a week
It is not rocket science to understand how Arista and AWS folks who come to the office every day in NYC and visit their customers have replaced Cisco gear in majority of financial customers in NYC

One Penn used to always be buzzing with customers
Cisco encouraging everyone to work from home was the kiss of death for NY

Sad to hear all the great talent in NY left to work for the competition, as NYC office used to be filled with energy and A+ employees

I joined Cisco 2 years ago in NYC and have never met my manager in-person
I have only seen him on WebEx as he has not come into One Penn office since I joined Cisco

Most of the major NY customers already migrated to AWS and Arista courtesy of the Ex-Rock Star Cisco folks that left years ago

University hires are too expensive for Cisco. Rehire through a temp agency with no benefits and hourly wages. There are tons of qualified unemployed people willing to work in those conditions.

All the great sales and engineers who worked in NYC left years ago and were replaced by lazy and/or inexperienced "Work From Homers"

You should have left some milk and cookies on your desk for your college grad replacement that will be working for a fraction of your salary
