Y'all ready to be on ground and cover a territory and shift work? Engineers ready to be by themselves??

The plan won’t work on many areas of rr. There aren’t any highways next to the tracks for expediters to drive on.
If this happens I wish they’d offer all the furloughed conductors to the engineering & mechanical depts. These crafts are so understaffed and there is a bunch of work to do that would really improve everything.
12 hours by yourself in a loco cab will make for a LONG DAY!!! At least now you have each other to keep alert. Especially on a cold night, that cab being warm. Gonna be a lot of engineers nodding off.
I tell anyone who'll listen that this is a sh-t bag company. Please don't apply, find something else! Let the 50 something year old guys like me go down on this sinking ship. We're old and don't have many options. You will have no seniority and this company is happy to cut your throat. Please make better choices!
12 hour trip solo???
Anyone advocating for that has absolutely never worked for the railroad.
They may run the railroad but they've never worked for the railroad.
Why can't the Conductors who don't want to be on the ground become Engineers? It seems like there is a shortage of Engineers. Is that not a potential career path anyway?
Karma for stealing other crafts jobs
Company gonna save a fortune with it. No more hotels, no more meal allowance. And prob slash 40 percent of the craft.
Let's go Fritz basically told conductors they should learn to code.
Greed, Greed, Greed.
I just SMH at the lifeless, robotic presentations they give as they casually discuss sending thousands to the poor house so they can squeeze another dime out of every dollar in the name of innovation.
Shameful.
Good luck to everyone and remember "We are One" 😆 🤣
Lol it's never gonna work. Esp in the midwest. Is UP gonna suddenly spend hundreds of millions to put in roads next to every track? Think I'm gonna walk miles across pvt land to access these trains? This idea is beyond stupid. What are you gonna do when the train derails?
Let the sh-t show begin , wonder whos bright idea this is ?
The up messes up everything it tries. They probably won’t be able to get trucks for the ground conductors, let alone maintain them. It will be a shot show
I would suggest getting out. You haven't seen anything yet.
Hmmmm twelve hours shifts, two shifts, I smell some CUTs heading our way!!!!!
Can we stop pretending we have a choice?
Our vote doesn't count.
Sold my stock and looking for another job.
Stay tuned… What a joke.
