Like many of you, I was giving my parting papers last month. After seventeen years, I have never seen this company change in forward, backwards, sideways like it has under the JF regime. I was offered the RDM position but will sleep on the offer but highly considering testing the open market has I have lost all faith in TMO even before this last round of layoffs. All indirect will be dead in 10-18 months IMO and unless you're on the COR side you will not be saved but that is my two cents. This was once my favorite place to work but no longer has corporate greed took all the Uncarrier magic that we all created and took this once sh---y company to glory then sp-t us out for record profits. Good luck everyone!

I recommend staying with T-Mo. You’ve been there this long despite all of the layoffs and bad atmosphere. Your position will be spared if you believe it with all your heart.
Your are indispensable to the company. They could never lay you off. You are more than a number to executive management. They value your contribution. Stay with T-Mo. you are not only great, you are special.
Move on. Sounds like you suck.
DO NOT TAKE THE RDM ROLE. Listen I was laid off last year and was offered a few other positions, ALL OF WHICH ARE NOW ELIMINATED. Take the severance but invest non stop in finding a new job using your network and if you can’t find something at the same pay, take what you can so you can save your severance. Don’t fall for the temptation of the new role, there is not a single position they have introduced over the last 4 years that is still around. Close this chapter my friend, you’ll soon realize it’s your team and coworkers you miss not the company.
This JF guy sounds like he should be dead. Hope he gets cancer.
It's obvious that y'all don't pay attention to what's going on with all brick-and-mortar retail. Folks got use to shopping by other means during Covid lockdowns.
JF & MS are 2 of the biggest id--ts ever. JF is fake and people are starting to finally see it. The guy is too chicken $#!t to be on Reddit anymore and blocks everyone for lashing out. Plain and simple, JF is a D-bag
Take the severance and run. Don’t be a lifer like some of these clowns who still Tmo as a place it once was.
Hey y’all
Digit is Here is obviously miseducated or a plant. For those who were apart of the MetroPCS organization knows for a fact that T-Mobile is successful because of MetroPCS. We funded all of the Uncarrier moves and other company initiatives moved the company to higher heights. If you don’t know believe it, review the company earnings from 2015 to 2018. It’s that simple.
No one said it was hard but it was working just fine. As I said, now we know you’re just another clueless cog in the machine.
Yeah, “synergy attainment” has made villains out of leaders that we loved prior to the Sprint deal. I don’t think it’s personal or out of one’s ignorance, but sadly, it’s real.
Metro created half the uncarrier moves and funded them? Lol Metro was a small company in about ten markets when T-Mobile acquired them ten years ago. They then had an instant nationwide network where they simply went to new markets stamping out the playbook of ten markets to all markets. Guys, that’s not very hard. When activations equaled disconnects when the base grew with high churn, the old crew punched out. T-Mobile just reported its lowest prepaid churn in history while still growing with a fraction of the headcount five years ago while others are delivering negative growth. Fire MS and JF! They suck! Lol
Exactly, t-mobile closed the year thinking they won the industry yet failed to announce then didn't meet financial goals and that will impact future layoffs. MS lied to it's employees and said everything was great. MS is a liar and not a leader. He is a shoot at the hip hack and is still riding under the wave of success that Legere created.
Metro either created or paid for at least half of the uncarrier moves during the last several years (taxes and fees included, test drive, unlimited data.) Say else wise and we know you are clueless. Metro was the cash cow and JF threw it away. I’m thrilled my severance is coming soon. Fu-k this org.
Leave! These wk3 T-Mobile leaders are going to bankrupt the company just like what is happening at Bed Bath and Beyond. Sure, it will take a while longer because of the deep pockets and corruption that T-Mobile is embedded in. Though, in the end getting wk3 leads to going broke! Reality always wins!!!
Metro was in no way a drag on TMO prior to the merger. That’s one reason the company embarked on their rebranding, to make it so Metro “by T-Mobile” could not easily be separated. Metro financed a huge portion of T-Mobiles growth due to the low cost of expansion and large revenue windfall enjoyed during the Apollo expansions. What JF did was take over to brands with distinct identities, and attempt to bring them together - which was an obvious failure. Senior leadership has openly admitted that the dismantling of the Metro org was a huge mistake, especially the business development team of 20 people that were responsible for the overarching strategy for all 10,000 Metro branded locations. What most people fail to consider is that the prepaid revenue, inventory rate, transaction count, etc. are much higher than that of postpaid, in turn requiring more headcount to support. What you have in JF is someone who changes direction annually, resulting in huge swings in operations, culture, and ultimately headcount. If you’re familiar with the TMO LBands you’ll notice that they are now extremely L7 heavy, a band that through personal experience JF has come to misunderstand in the larger scheme. The most recent result? The gutting of indirect teams and blatant priority to support Corp operated locations. The company can only spin results for so long, it hasn’t been the same since the merger and will only continue its slow decline back to the clear number three carrier.
lol their bread and butter is selling unnecessary products to people that have no idea how to use them. You think brick and mortar is going away? Who else is going to make those sync up trackers stick?
I think the issue is pretty clear. Metro was a mess with a bloated field structure that wasn’t producing any additional growth. JF inherited all that mess ahead of Sprint. Then the pandemic. And then the promise of all these cost synergies that, right or wrong, these guys have to deliver or they’re gone. You have to remember that most mergers means huge problems, declining customer losses, high churn, and a massive mess. Most companies don’t go through that unscathed. I think T-Mobile has done about the best job any company can do. Not perfect by any means. Things are moving more and more digital too and I know a bunch of you don’t want to realize that because you’re clinging onto retail never changing. T-Mobile the only company reporting positive prepaid growth. Verizon and AT&T all negative. Boost will almost certainly be negative. But hey, MS and JF get paid to take the criticism, so fu-k ‘em!
You should just leave.
At this point, even MEs can see how full of sh-t leadership is.
Nice move
Take the offer if you need the money and benefits but don't stop looking. If you do go back, get out as soon as you can, but on your own terms.
Well said!
