Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Controllers, Treasurers and other Non-Upstream were very good at PiP from 2015 through 2020, hence they did not force out alot in 2021-2022. But, Upstream was playing catch up because PIPS were low in 2015 to 2020; hence higher involuntary especially in geoscience and projects...Now, there is a good history of people who need to be PIP'd in Finance/Other. These will happen. I suspect Upstream PIP will be low 5% but non-Upstream will be higher 8%.

People please, we all know that Exxon has died. This management committee has ki-led the company. There is no future here. Darren and his gang will keep selling any assets that can (Annandale watch out, your building is next), laying off as many people as they can, closing office space, etc. etc. This place is done. So, stop complaining and keep collecting your paycheck while you can.

Yup…suspect there’s many more cuts coming. I guess they must remain competitive, but it sucks for us.

It's great to hear the rest of the business is feeling the effects of "flat to down" and "no additional headcount" guidance that the service functions have been feeling for decades. If you don't like the service level, then tell your company presidents to support their service line counterparts. Otherwise, business transformation will gut the minimal headcount that remains.

It is a good thing that those increased taxes on the “rich” and big companies in the US don’t impact the regular working class…..oh wait…

Let me know what contract you need updated and I’ll enter a service ticket for you. It will probably go unanswered like the other 10 I have that have been sitting out there for months, but at least we are “improving effectiveness and better serving our customers”

I been trying to get a contract updated and GEP for weeks. No luck. It’s like asking to split the atom.

Yeah - the more we “transform” the cr---y this place gets. I have contractors threatening to walk off the job due to months of unpaid invoices. It also takes weeks to get a P.O., or get a P.O. updated. What’s left of on-site procurement in Baytown tries their best to help handle these issues for us, which makes it look like the “transformation” is successful to the executives. Other sites have the same issues from what my counterparts tell me. F’ing clown show 🤡

I also heard jobs would be moving from Argentina to Thailand and India due to the “increasing cost to operate” in Buenos Airies
