Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Favoritism? Overworked? Discrimination? Harassment?

If you feel you have been unfairly targeted at Belk for the above reasons or for any other reason especially if you are part of a protected class, please keep a list of dates, times, names, and details about your experiences. Several Belk managers and associates will be planning a class action lawsuit against the company, and all employees must be notified of this lawsuit before it is settled, so they can opt in if the so choose. Belk and Sycamore have one of the sleziest reputations in the retail industry and that may soon be comming to an end. Moore details to follow in the new year.

"well here at kohls I get paid $11.45 an hour up here in Michigan I have been with kohls for over a year now I really just want to quit but I'm hoping with me studying phlebotomy I should move on very soon fingers crossed but yeah I little bit of what you guys are saying is true but really I believe its just the work environment of America but just remember its all based on your performance/credits that you get I really do enjoy working with my coworkers and even the customers so stay upbeat and fake it to you make it"

This is a perfect example of someone who needs to go back to 6th grade english class, or for whom the american education system has completely failed. An incoherent, unintelligible run on sentence. They need to stop working and go back to middle school.

Our store manager is earning approx. $3,600 every two weeks
STM's about $1,700 every two weeks
Associates about $13.50 per hour

In my store the lead in my dept. gets paid $3 or$4 dollars more than the rest of us while we do most of the work. The dept is basically falling apart while he picks and choses what he feels like doing.

My manager is so he-l bent on making sure that anyone that is african american, g-y or anything else is treated fairly that those of us that are not take the brunt of his anger about what is not done. While some people take as many breaks as they want or blatantly ignore what their job is, those of us that go above and beyond are totally ignored. Typically I just ignore it but it is getting worse. On top of it he does not handle what he is supposed to as a manager and then is upset when something goes wrong. So I am definately interested.

Belk should be paid equally, for equal work.
And the person's "title" does not indicate a different pay rate.

If you're an STM and doing the same job (or more) than a store manager you need to be paid the same.

Keep a detailed list of what you do, what the store manager does, and most times, the store manager is doing less.
