Thread regarding VMware layoffs

I'm regretting I didn't quit in June

I should have quit soon after the acquisition was first announced. The last eight or so months have brought me nothing but stress and worry which increased my anxiety significantly. At that time, jobs in my field were plentiful. That's no longer the case, thanks to recent layoffs all around. I shot myself in the foot by staying and wanting to see it through.

You could have taken another job in June, and then got laid-off now. That has happened to a BUNCH of people who left VMware for Facebook and others.

It will get worse before it gets better. Once the acquisition is complete and initial layoffs done everyone will be adjusting to the new culture. Plus more and more change. Reorg, people leaving, ways of working, T&Cs etc.
