Neste?
@2wbf+1kSDAeqy No, but if you buy those global assets, you also have to take the European assets. As is clear, ExxonMobil is selling out of Europe ASAP. So, why buy in-region assets to replace the ones you've already divested?
Your strategic vision indicates that you are probably high up in Exxon, or certainly middle management at least 🤡
The firm having the most proposed LNG projects and operating LNG assets in their pipeline.
@1hma+1kSDAeqy You think European oil companies only have assets in Europe? Wow.
@1hma+1kSDAeqy, European majors don't have operations only in Europe. If EM or Chevron were to buy one of them, they could decide to divest their European operations (which btw might prove helpulf to get the clearance from the EU anti-trust body) and retain those they consider attractive in the rest of the world.
EM is shutting down refineries and retail in Europe along with the upstream there... Why on earth would it then consider buying someone else's equivalent?
EM would rather sell all it's remaining assets in Europe than buy more!
In my view, EM purchasing a European “super-major” (i.e. Shell, BP or TotalEnergies) would never make the cut with many anti-trust authorities (not only in Europe), unless they agree to make major divestments, in which case you may wonder where is the interested of purchasing something if you're forced to sell 50% or more of it some months after.
I remember the rumours about EM potentially buying BP when they were in deep sh:t after the Macondo spill, but these were different times and finally it didn't happen.
