The only constant under Mike Romans time in charge is yearly layoffs. 6 straight years of layoffs. Let’s make sure he gets credit for such an accomplishment. Anyone know his total number so far? And still growing too!

Why don't MR resign gracefully, and let someone else take over the top job, if he doesn't have a better strategy to save this company? He is destroying the rice bowl of 90,000 employees whom many are dependent on the job for survival.
We could really use one of those signs like you see in factories where they report the number of days without a lost time accident. This one could tell us "we have gone ___ days without a layoff!"
Maybe someone from Corporate is able to put a counter to 3M Go's homepage? I mean... No problem - layoff is coming anyway. Make sure it's worth it!
Shoot, couple more years of this and MMM can be called a “layoff aristocrat” for continually increasing layoffs, year over year, regardless of market conditions.

I think leadership didn't like the nonstop front page stories of the Star Trib after prior layoff announcements, so they don't disclose any numbers unless they absolutely have to. Too much bad press with earplugs/chemicals already.
The scariest part is overall employment is still about 90k. If people are being laid off, then who is being hired?
The answer: GE rejects, Starbucks fail offs, and a bunch of nepotism based hires.
Throw in millions on consultants and non wonder this place has gone to he-l!
Who really knows, but here’s a rundown:
- July 2019 = 2,000
- December 2020 = 2,900
- 2021/2022: shrouded in mystery between additional covid layoffs, dr-g delivery divestiture, and the “business led” restructurings and layoffs. Probably over 1,000
- January 2023 = 2,500
So 7,400 for sure, 1,000 more likely at least. If the top execs have no idea how to grow, then they have to cut or spin-off businesses to “unlock value.” Really a sad situation how much damage can be done so quickly by so few.
The executives have hidden the numbers so nobody could do a tally. At a high level, over the last 6 years and including the recently announced 2,500 - I'd estimate around 10,000.
