For my team the Aug 2020 layoff was Tuesday Aug 25th. Other teams might have hit other days. I have the receipt from when I picked up the tab for all of those cut on my team right in front me.

I am @iwo+1kRVD6uy. I looked up the doc if you are under director, ( even if you have a director title you might not be an actual director in code), you get 4 weeks for the first 2 years or any part thereof, then 1 additional week per year or part thereof until 12 weeks max. They cover healthcare for awhile, I didn't use it I was lucky enough to have a friend begging me to work with him at his company for years. I would try using a new email address if you do the career services. They just dump your resume into 100's of sites and you'll get spammed with jobs from McDs, Amazon delivery driver, etc. I still get 40-50 a day.

Still no details about how the severance package would look like - is there a non-disclosure clause in the severance agreement? Why wouldnt anyone confirm that?

If your number comes up make sure you leave with dignity and class. There is always the chance you'll get hired back either to a new job role - or - as a contractor to finish projects that need to get done and you have the expertise and they won't have enough people to do it. The firing manager or HR rep will be under strict rules about what they can and cannot say. So don't expect to have too much of a conversation. I actually felt bad for my manager because it was harder on him than on me.

@iwo+1kRVD6uy testimony is 100% correct. I've heard that exact story from a few peers who were let go a few years ago.

Look out for random meetings from your manager (this means you're getting laid off and they aren't, or they are getting laid off later). If you get an invite from a random manager, it could mean you and/or your manager and team are getting laid off.

Unfortunately either way, you won't know until you know.

@ iwo+1kRVD6uy. Your post makes most sense. From my experiences with the last few netapp layoffs , it always happens on a Tuesday. Can you give us some info about the severance package? Is it 1 week per year?

As someone who's team was cut at NetApp in Nov. I was told NetApp typically does layoff's on Tuesday, that was from the horrible company they use as a post layoff career counselor. I never got to meeting 2 because by the time that came up, my meeting 1 person had either quit or transferred to a new job. The night before or early morning of, you'll get a random meeting request. If your manager is staying it will be with him, if he is leaving it will be with HR or his manager. You will be asked for a personal email address, they will, they will send you an acknowledgment of separation minutes after the meeting completes. You will have corp access until 3:30 PM that day, mine lasted until about 8:30 the next day. Keep your laptop on it will be wiped and a fresh windows image installed ( it is yours to keep), this starts the 60-day countdown timer for WARN, you are in garden time, after 60 days you will get an email to acknowledge again you were laid off and you can accept or turn down the severance. Congrats you are now free from NetApp. Go find a better more fun job.

GK already notified the company with the "people impact" statement. If a RIF is coming it'll be mid-week, your termination letter will be dated the day after your mgr meeting, internal access will be lost by Friday of the same week.

Termination date will be around 60 days (notice period) from your notice date; no WARN notice will be published until well after everyone has been notified. In the past it's been about a month later.

Everything is pointing towards the end of the quarter, but nothing is set in stone. No way of knowing unless you have insider information.
