Daddy Starbucks is usually the type to laud these kind of layoff announcements as "efficiency." Has he made any appearances yet today, or has he too turtles up in his office like Mike?
To the person wondering how much 3M is paying consultants like Kearney, the only way they would consult for 3M is if it were several million dollars, probably in the range of 10 to 20 million, otherwise they would say no. For a company with over 80k employees, Kearney will milk to cow for as long as tireman wants. And tireman doesn't care because the more flaws they find, the more tireman justifies his job in EO.

McKinsey has really lawyered up internally. After the purdue pharma and opiods thing, they must have figured out they can be sued for lousy advice.
I hope places like McKinsey and Kearney go the way of arthur Anderson and end up as carcasses by the side of the corporate road for all the layoffs they have been responsible for.
Too bad 3M can't claw back any money for the disastrous A3M. That money could be used for more severance for the people who want to leave this titanic.
He is in his backyard with his grandchildren building an igloo.
Speaking of McKinsey, nice little write up about them on Bloomberg yesterday:
https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2023-01-24/mckinsey-s-missteps-point-to-a-bigger-management-consulting-mess?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=news_tab
I heard Mckinsey handled A3M. 3M is out of money to spend on the big dogs, so they brought in the reject group to handle mop up duty.
Weren't Kearney the consultants that 3M used to roll out DOA A3M?
Seems like someone made a mess and another group of McKinsey rejects gets credit and paid to clean it up.
Wee Pete is sure garbling things up so fast. With bonuses, he's probably getting nearly a million was taking a messed up EO and turning it into a real cluster.
hi there, Pete here, thank you for all your work, each and every one of you, yes even you that posts to this site, we are going make a few cuts to the global network, don't worry it's not you , it's us, we are spending your bonuses and incentives on Consultancy fees with Kearney Group, this will help secure my job and all the lovely executives who will still amass shares that will help keep the wolves from the door at these times of hardship, any way quick explaination of how we will spend your bonuses. The Kearney Group is a global management consulting firm that helps companies in a wide range of industries with strategy, operations, and technology consulting. They have expertise in areas such as supply chain management, digital transformation, and innovation, among others.
A deal between Kearney and 3M will involve Kearney working with 3M to improve and streamline its supply chain operations, which would help 3M increase efficiency and reduce costs, ultimately leading to increased profitability. The specific details of such a deal depend on the specific needs and goals of 3M, and has be negotiated between the two companies.
Here is a sample consultancy deal that could potentially help 3M profit in the future:
Kearney will conduct a comprehensive analysis of 3M's current supply chain operations, including areas such as sourcing, production, logistics, and distribution.
Based on the findings of the analysis, Kearney will develop a set of recommendations for 3M to improve its supply chain operations and increase efficiency.
Kearney will work with 3M to implement the recommended changes and provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure their success.
Kearney will monitor the effectiveness of the changes over time and make adjustments as necessary.
The consultancy deal will be for 1 year with options for renewal or expansion.
The consultancy fee will be based on the agreed upon deliverables, i.e. all the execs get loads of shares and the time it would take me Wee Pete to achieve the objectives of the deal.
The only people who get a job at a firm like Kearny are Mckinsey rejects. 3M has no qualms about wasting money on consultants, so they should just hire the best of the best.
Careful. Say too many mean things about the buffoons at the top and the 3M spies will have your post removed.
Probably “extra security” day…
