Thread regarding 3M layoffs

More info

I wonder how long it's going to take them to give us more info. Now that we know layoffs are coming and how substantial they'll be, chances are they're going to keep silent for weeks and let us stress and worry over it before they share any other morsel of info with us. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

Nice that Decatur sent out an email .. I would prepare for at a min of 100 at that site . The Birds already know the number , but Decatur must have a good 1st month in 2023 and the employees don’t even realize they are being used , once laid off , your career with 3m is over sadly… good luck if you have less than 3yrs of service. Fortunately there are jobs with other companies out there… you will not get notice from 3m when the ball drops , don’t wait it out please start at least applying for other companies and be ahead of this game they are playing with everyone’s livelihoods.

STUFF THEM,, all the worker bees should go for a better pay increase this year, don't let manager cry wolf over hard times when execs are going home with millions each year in salary for driving the company down, they will pay millions out to consultancy firms instead of rewarding the workers,Millions of workers are angry – angry that they didn’t get hazard pay for risking their lives during the pandemic, angry that they’ve been forced to work 70 or 80 hours a week, angry that they received puny raises while executive pay soared, angry that they didn’t get paid sick days when they got sick.

Demonstrators rally in front of CEO of Amazon Jeff Bezos residence calling for workers rights and stopping union-busting on November 2021 in New York City, US labor on the march in 2021 after years of decline
Out of this comes a question that looms large for America’s workers: will this surge of worker action and anger be a mere flash in the pan or will it be part of a longer-lasting phenomenon? The answer to this important question could turn on whether all this anger and energy are somehow transformed into a larger movement. At least for now, America’s labor leaders seem to be doing very little to tap all this energy and hope and to build it into something bigger and longer lasting. Yes, we are seeing unionization drives at this workplace and that one, but we are not seeing any bigger, broader effort to channel and transform all this worker energy and discontent into a new movement, one perhaps with millions of engaged and energetic nonunion workers, that would work in conjunction with the traditional union movement.

Tireman has a blank check now to pay consultants. Mike's comment about "reexamining everything we do" opens the checkbook even wider. Kearney consultants will set up shop in the plants to "help identify waste" sitting in the offices that used to be occupied by laid off engineers.

For a guy who's only been around for 15 months, he has spent likely over 10 million in consultants. Meanwhile, customer service is grounded and can't make trips to key customers. Plants SAFE budgets have been slashed in half, if not more. Measly 2 percent raises are being projected after today's dismal earnings. Organic sales are shrinking 3 or more percent. GESPP is in the dark red.

What's the pain threshold of the worker bees.

nothing surprises me will the top management in this company, i don't feel sorry for any execs, they have been cruising their way through the past few years with little or no value to the company, we bring in a new EO head and now millions will be spent on consultancy fees to do his job for him,
