Agreed - many of us would jump at a chance to leave the stress if the pot were sweetened just a little bit to mitigate financial risk associated with jumping ship. Why cut people that don't want to leave? The penalty to morale amd productivity is steep.

my hand has been up for several years, the same can be said for another 8-10 in our plant, all with only 10 years of service not the boomers, although there is not many of them

The layoffs from today is the strategy , layoffs to continue, as per plan. As usual we continue to be surprised with the lack of demand, even though pundits of all sorts have been taking about change in demand for a long time now ! We pay this exec team a lot of millions, the axe should swing at the top, before it goes further down..
