So I had a major health issue and was told by 7 doctors not to return to work at Imperial. SunLife declined to pay long term disabilty. Union won't do anything. Lawyer sent a couple of appeal letters to SunLife but then gave up. Not once has Imperial reached out to see how I'm doing. So what do I do now? Just quit? My department was reorganized just before my health issue - I don't even know who my supervisor is so I don't even know who to contact. Imperial truly doesn't care about its employees. 20+ years of service by the way.

Who cares
Imperial does not care about you and your health. Only window dressing and doing the bare minimum to comply with the law.
Once you realize this you will be able to move one.
Do not waste time and effort hoping that things are different.
