Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

ExxonMobil Reflection

I was part of Global Team that I thought was at the pinnacle of the professional ladder (time served however demonstrated otherwise), in which I gave all. However after seeing clear favoritism, driven agendas, self centered support, targeted gossip narratives, unfounded attacks, nationality discrimination, poor values & degrading behaviors, lack of forward thinking and a desire to drive out talent vs retention it was time to seek other opportunities and change my own environment.

Environment changed, new opportunities came that where embraced and I am better off for it both professionally and personally. My well being is balanced, have supportive new employers, happy internally and my only regret is not making this change sooner (life lesson learned).

In summary, if you are not happy, you are your own book……change your story, make a new chapter, a new history…it’s solely down to you!

There is life after - dig deep and find it! You’ll not regret it, it’s your choice, no one else’s.

Sounds like Global Security and some of the leadership personalities which consistently shows poor behaviour and value to those they are meant to represent.

Was your part of SSHE by any chance? Seems familiar…

If you hadn't mentioned "Global Team", you would have described the Beaumont experience.

I couldn't agree more.

Particularly that "it's your choice".

In EM your career is NOT your choice. You don't control it, your supervisor does, and since your supervisor doesn't care about you, your career is drifting away with no direction.

If you want to regain control, then you must leave.
