Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Layoffs to be announced in February

High single digits percentage across the board. Employees who have customer facing jobs and have worked remotely will take the worst hit.

We are not immune to the high tech stock boosting layoffs currently happening. Kurian as always only cares about the stock price and so this is right in his wheelhouse.

If you want to keep your job you better start showing up in person.

I think they are still trying to show profit by having everyone do remote. Virtual sales teams as much as possible and cut back real estate, reduce travel. They were able to do it during COVID as other companies.

Where are you fanboy troll hunter? Did you lose your job too? Looks like this post was 100 percent accurate despite your delusional view.

Pure Storage is growing and coming out with multiple products. By the way, several key NetApp employees have quit and gone to Pure over recent years!!

Possibly the d-mbest troll post I've ever seen on this forum. You guys need to up your game. Oh wait, you work at Pure. Nevermind.

Managers already know who will be fired. Why are you still denying it?
What makes you think pure storage is bad - customer reports point to them being very satisfied with pure, but from netapp recently (past 2 years) complaints are pouring in

Anyone notice that every month there's a rumor of huge layoffs coming, the axe is gonna drop, GK is sharpening his kn--e, etc., and then, magically, someone from pure casually pipes in? Of course there'll always be layoffs eventually, but this is posted every month since 2016 or so. Is this all FUD to sow discontent and poach engineers? Does anyone really want to work with pure's sh-t-tier storage?

Is Pure hiring outside CA? For example, in CO, KS and PA?

LOL'ing at the "better start showing up in person" - Gives it away as a troll post. We aren't even allowed to come into the office on a full-time basis anymore.

If the RIF is in Feb > 5%, will that show up in WARN filing in EDD?

Come on WFH not the issue. I thought the economy was booming.

While OPs suggestion as to what particular group will be laid off seems wrong, I do feel it is safe to assume there will be layoffs in the near term. We typically follow suit with FAAANG tendencies in the market, and those companies have obviously done a layoff to start 2023.

Troll post. Anti WFH stance gives it away. The average daily attendance in my office is in the single digits. If I went into the office, I would still be in zoom meetings alone in a room all day.

If you are customer/partner facing and have not been to a customer site, you are not customer facing but your salary cost makes you stand out. Partner people that don't see partners, and leaders that never see their teams. Internal teams that just spray metrics of other peoples work should also be worried.

The criteria for stack rankings has nothing to do with strategy.

They just recently recommitted to remote work so that factoring into layoffs makes no sense.

I think the poster said customer facing rolls who have NOT re-engaged based on their current work ethic.

Why would customer facing jobs take the worst hit? If you’re number carrying and customer facing that would make you more sticky to the business. That makes absolutely zero sense.
