Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Everything is shrouded in secrecy

I have worked in several companies in the industry so far and yes, mostly everything is shrouded in secrecy, but it seems nowhere more so than here.
I'm interested in the details of what's happening to the ET people, but State Farm seems to have done everything to keep it as quiet as possible.
If this non-transparency is a way to keep other employees in the company, I don't think it is a good idea.

The papers are in their garage next to the Corvette and corporate legal is on top of it. 😂

With various ET leaders (i.e. M. Brotherton, B. Becker, etc.) on top secret project(s) over the past year or so can explain the level of confidentiality.

SF has never been transparent about anything. How many times have you heard someone in management say "I'm going to be as transparent as I can." Not they aren't. They are being condescending.

I didn’t think it was true until I went searching. They haven’t posted anything whatsoever on the EMC.

I assume they don't want everyone in ET to know that they have plans to get rid of the whole department piece by piece. SF wants this done on their timeline and they don't want too many people leaving too early.

If no transparency, it begs the question......what do they have to hide. I assume too much based on what I know for sure.

Hmmmhhh...Not sure what to say here. I sincerely doubt that OP would advocate 100% transparency as to his/her private arrangements.
