Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Why didn’t you take advantage of the free college degrees TMO was paying for? Retail is dead it’s time to grow up and get career serious.

What are you talking about? Since COVID a lot of degrees have been obtained online. The university that TMO offered FOR FREE will get your foot in the door 🚪. It’s up to you to sell yourself on the job. When has an employer asked where did you go to school? They ask if you have a degree not where did you graduate.

I will say this, people should 100% take advantage of the tuition reimbursement. However do not go to the schools they push and cover 100%. All of them are for profit schools, and their curriculum is not what you are going to get elsewhere. Also if you try and move to another job outside, the degrees from these schools will be looked at as bottom of the barrel. At minimum folks should be going to WGU which is non profit and self paced, you can accelerate and graduate as fast as you can, or go to state universities. Be prepared to pay the difference outside of what they cover. Sure it is a financial hit now, but down the road it will likely pay off more than places like Ashdod, Capella, Phoenix, and Colorado Tech that T-Mobile partners with.

Good luck with your degree, look at the school they are offering. It is not worth it.

Every last person that got laid off should be collecting unemployment while they gain actual skills in real life that help make society a better place. College is practically useless if you don’t have a vision for what you want to do, free or not.

OP probably had their degree covered by Taco Bell's TA program... just like the one covered by T-Mobile... what a "Corporate Shill..."
