Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

This is too much

The fact that right after layoffs are done I can't stop worrying about more coming maybe as soon as later this month is not normal. It's the weekend and all I'm doing is looking for more info on what's to come instead of relaxing with a game or a movie. Work should be there to help us pay our bills, not take over our entire lives and make them worse even on our days off.

Listen, stop stressing. Especially if you are under 40. You'll get a job easy somewhere else. I survived Nielsen's mass layoffs back in 2006 when they were also bought by private equity, however the stress literally almost gave me a heart attack. Not joking. As you get older, you realize a job is something you do to pay bills. There's no such thing as a career.

You are on the plantation and institutionalized to devote every minute of your life to the ideology of free market capitalism.

I feel the same. I go between feel lucky that I have survived this round and feeling stressed out that there are more layoffs coming. The lack of control is ki----g my sense of peace.
