The Belk store in the Greeneville Commons is temporarily closed to change its format into an outlet store.
Plans are for the major retailer to reopen its Commons anchor store on Jan. 30.
According to the store's latest phone recording, the store will reopen as "Belk Outlet, a brand new shopping experience where you'll continue to shop all your favorite brands for less."

It is not a large store to begin with. We had limited housewares. Most of the store was clothing, especially women’s apparel and shoes. It is located in an open air shopping center with Burke’s, Marshalls, Ross for Less and Hobby Lobby. There are a few restaurants and boutiques.
belk outlet I really wonder why now I mean like I see why they did it after Christmas but that store looks like its from the 80s I'm really betting that they will just paint it white and blue and have signs that look like ross the store will be empty maybe with a fixture wall or just drywall I bet something like 35 thousands feet max for the whole store and a register bank in the front more likely on the left side of the store just like in outlet retail stores Burlington and such but I don't see much inventory really going on mass but more than likely more off branded merch its a restart refresh dump of the old clap they cant sell
They have put up blue signage all over the doors of the Greeneville Belk store so you can’t see in. They have been removing all of the fixtures from the store with the exception of clothes racks. They also have a large dumpster filled with stuff sitting in the parking lot.
This is just the first. More Belk stores in other regions will follow.
