Thread regarding Sears layoffs

What is Ed Lambert up to these days?

You don't hear much news regarding Mr. Lambert these days. Any plans for Transform Company to buy JCPenney?

He's considering the opportunity cost of time. Money was made. The time lost to this almost 100% pursuit on one single company excluded greater rewards in energy, technology, and many other things. We all have more or less money. We all have time in equal measure. It's as if an investor in a shirt company in Nebraska was still "unlocking the value" from the last husks of the same cob of corn 50, 60 years later. That's how you get from $1bn, $2bn to $15bn, $20bn, and more, and to a much larger berth at the harbor in Monte Carlo, too.

That is probably the most demented thing I've seen on this site in the 6 years I've been watching. To actually think that singing him praises would motivate people to be able to sell more.

The song we song every day at our member rally had a line that said "Mr. Lampert we love you. You think of our members in everything that you do" our store manager wrote it.

This is laughable. No one that has ever worked for Sears in the last 20 years would make the mistake of lambert.

It's a common mistake. Lambert is how is how Jeff Epstein entered him in his little black book. You can find scanned copies if you dig around the Internet a little bit.

Eddie is loaded. You should see his mansion in Hawaii. And by the way, the JC Penney's story is old news.

"He kept the company alive for 20 more years than it would have been".

That's not saying much....The company has been floundering and on a steady decline for the past few decades....Lampert only made things worse.

At least he'll still have the other 2 mansions plus the place on the Italian Riviera after he sells Aspen.

He is doing better than anyone that visits this site. He kept the company alive 20 more years than it could have been.

He's busy trying to scrape up enough cash to get by in retirement. Cash is tight since Transformco is falling apart. The second mansion is up for sale. $35m for the Aspen property and the proceeds from the Hoffman Estates garage sale should be enough to pay his household servants in Florida for a while.

Because if he does have those plans, he'd let us schmucks on TheLayoff know before anyone else.
