When I called the Newport (Jersey City NJ) Sears just now, the recording said it was open 11 am to 7 pm, both today and tomorrow. I have no idea why Yelp claims it is closed.
This was posted on Thurs.. Obviously this was false as nothing happened. Also, Newport Sears is NOT closing so that is false garbage too.

Sears/Kmart are closing these stores as their investment is in AI apparently. Next they will be moving into the metaverse

Sears is based in Central Time right? 4 PM, and no closings. Fail, egg on face.
Loss prevention just finished up a massive internal theft investigation at that store. There is a lot of evidence we have to ship back to Hoffman estates.
Not much left to close by now: 12 large Sears, 5 small Sears, 8 Kmarts. The end of Hometown means that Sears is not even pretending to be a national brand anymore.
So coming to work at Newport Center today (I work security) and Sears has trucks pulled up to the loading dock taking things out and loading them on the trucks. When asked, I was told "remodeling". My manager stated that the mall wasn't notified if they are closing or not, but they're absolutely clearing portions of the store out.
