Who is retiring?
I heard from my leader that it is an absolute s*** show at the et exec level. Lots of drama and distrust.
At some point turnover would be a good thing.
Retiring after over 35 years and several at executive level comp is considered early retirement?
Another early exec retirement. Wonder who will be selected. Let’s see … who does F hang out with. Oh ok. Will be one of the two boot l….. with great skill in managing up.

I'm Keeping my laptop though.
Sounds like an idea taken from the staples playbook. Give business to uour friend.
Every “at risk employee” will have every keystroke captured and memorialized. Jail time for misbehavior.
SMH. Out of court settlements occuring was my point. Plus, severance goes a long way towards building goodwill, especially among former employees who still will have access to SF systems and data as "rebadged" associates. Sure, they might get fired from the contractor in the near future once knowledge transfer has occured but not treating them right may breed an insider threat that could seriously damage operations. But, sounds like you've got it figured out, sport. Congrats, DB.

Look behind the scenes
Company is taking L’s
Never heard of a settlement? lol
No court citations means just BS. “I heard a rumor” speaks to your gullibility and lack of intelligence.
Considering it took me years of working at the Farm before I learned about the "Jew Lawyer List" scandal, I have no doubt there are dozens of smaller employee discrimination suits. Family friend is a former agent that was paid out in a discrimination lawsuit years ago. Doubt there are actual grounds to sue here though, companies do these kind of layoffs all the time.
Umm RICO was not an employee lawsuit.
@2kak-you have a nothing burger. Just BS. RICO was a settlement not a verdict. Go play fantasy lawyer elsewhere.
@1dku, details of out of court settlements a rule usually aren't publicized. Except for that recent $250M RICO hit...

@1dku-in SFs 100 year history could you cite the successful employee discrimination lawsuits? Or you are thinking this is going to be the first?

Spot on. It takes an act of God to fire bad employees at State Farm. As you said, most just get shifted around to another area and made another team's problem.
You still don't get it, Chud. One doesn't sue because no severance was offered. One sues for cause, like, um, oh I don't know, when a bunch of people with lots of tenure are eliminated, age discrimination? No severance means employee has not signed away their right to sue because their rights as a protected class have been violated. Insurance companies are probably less popular than the US Congress with jurors.
This is what you ultimately get when the culture doesn't have real expectations for employees. REALLY bad employees are "managed" for months or years and ultimately just move around. If you have a culture to elimates bad/worthless/problematic people faster you don't have the bloat and outsourcing doesn't seem so wonderful to management. SF lawyers, process, leadership is to blame for all of it....besides the awful employees
All true. But suing for something not legally required is for fools. Something you know a lot about.
You've obviously never received a severance package in your "career."
Severance is not required but it softens the blow and at the same time requires the employee to sign an agreement to not sue the company for employment-related claims. In other words, Slick, it protects the company from costly litigation (even class action level) for a cheaper, upfront cost. Bye!
LOL. No company is required to offer severance pay. As usual the advice on this site is worse than worthless.
You don't want to work for an Indian body shop. Sue SF if they don't offer you severance.-- age discrimination, etc. Even if you're unsuccessful, file for unemployment on SF's dime.

@1fsk-so you are saying we are better off being laid off by SF than accepting a HCLTech offer to work?
What is ET?
How many employees are impacted?
For those who are impacted I’m not sure taking the HCL offer is wise. Most people don’t understand what unemployment is and there’s a stigma about collecting it. It’s insurance for exactly this. Your benefits are based upon the salary and term of employment when you were terminated. State Farm is required to pay it, and the rate they pay is based upon the number of claims they have. In my opinion, this is a strategy to move this exposure to HCL. Your future unemployment claims will be against HCL (probably at a lower rate) and not the Farm.

HCLTech has been linked to various scam call lines. Those calls you get from India pretending to be an IT guy is what HCLTech specializes in. Nearly 40% of their business is scam calls, the other is legit off shore support. That's how they stay in business legally. State Farm did not do their due diligence on this one.
When is the meeting?
I heard that this meeting is to announce that Lotus Notes is FINALLY going away, in 2035.
Both can and are true. Management can be unaware of discussions regarding job cuts while 4 or 5 senior executives on 12 explore the reality and develop a plan. Years ago when the Canadian operation was sold no one in Canada including the SVP knew of the plan until a day or 2 before it was announced.
ET come home? To the hubs and away from your home?
If true, then there goes the trust in management when they've been saying they're not aware of any discussions about cutting jobs. They've been asked many times in several meetings.
If the rumors that leadership is trying to outsource as much of ET as possible are true, this would not surprise me at all. I hear that Vanguard (also a mutual company) did something like that too, at least in part
There will be some job cutting. Already have a contract with people in India.
The 2000 are the first step. Eventually all ET work will be external. This has been under discussion for years. Tipsord want to initiate this under his watch so his successor does not have to make the decision/announcement.
I heard 2000 employees are going to become externals with a 1 year contract
