But what happens if the managers have work to do outside of managing a small team

@How do you know that managers with a certain size and under will be laid off? What happens with all the younger managers.
It's a pretty standard - There's no point in having a manager for one or two people, as is in the case with a couple of teams I worked with.

@ Guess all the horrible mgrs get to keep they're jobs.
I think there will be another round where they will get rid of some of the managers if their teams are below a certain size.
Does us layoffs end today or will it continue?

as a manager we aren’t being told anything. given zero info from leadership on what to say or do except a general form that is vague in answers and won’t calm fears.
They won’t release headcount lost numbers. we’re being treated like nothing is happening so carry on per usual with an upbeat attitude (unless you’re directly affected). I’m just watching people deactivate on slack but I’m guessing if you have no email by 3pm your time zone (in the US) you’re ok.
sorry European coworkers we’re just in the dark as you and it really feels like pushing for hard answers is not the thing to do without more risk or being labeled uncooperative. No answers will come anyway.
Laid off today, with email invite this morning. IT cut off my access prior to the meeting but was able to call in. LOL
How many people globally? Does anybody have any inside info? It seems like a lot...more than 20%...
Actually this company is failing even in firing people - David’s email should have been sent after communicating to all of the staff fired. Apart US this so called global comapany has still to comunicate to people.
For us in Europe anxiety is even bigger, US comms started today right after the email was sent, but we'll need to wait till Monday (at the minimum) to know if we have lost our jobs or not. What a great job they did with that brutal email... they couldn't have created more anxiety even if they'd tried harder... I feel more like a number than ever...
Still haven’t heard anything nor received any emails/invites… is it safe now?
@got laid off…
What department?
Got laid off. Received email last night from manager , hr popped on uninvited .
Saw it coming . I think in these situations you always kinda do know
Got 4 weeks severence. Last day the 1/25. Keep retention bonus . Other bonus paid out at 100 pct for q4 and q1
My one blessing I’m disguise is I have 13 years experience in mmm and was only being paid 120 base which was less than I was getting paid 5 years ago . So I think with inflation accounted , finding a job that will pay similar amount hopefully won’t be too hard
Legal was hit
i have a meeting with my managers manager in 30 minutes. Getting Fired for sure?
People who were affected, when did you receive your invite to connect? Today or sooner?
I was wanting to move from field rep into cybersecurity. Not happening now I guess, at least within Nielsen

For the ones who got notice.. what department?

I got laid off just before 9am ET. Had a call scheduled with manager and someone from HR was there also. 4 weeks severance after one year of employment. Also get 100% of AIP target. Good luck to everyone else waiting.
it’s starting in 30-60 min
they care more about praising and launching nielsen one than they do communicating with employees
they can’t even tell us if slack is going away
Same.so much anxiety….
nothing here so far
