Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Unfair criticism

I really care about this job, at least until I find a better one, but the manager is literally draining my energy every day and I'm starting to get tired of it. At first I doubted myself and was too self-critical, but now I am aware that it is very unfair criticism on his part. This criticism is not constructive at all. He criticizes simply because he enjoys doing so. If you too had such a problem, how did you overcome it?

Sorry to tell you but there really is no way to overcome it. That pretty much is the way they run belk. But don't doubt yourself because thats what they want, All in the quest of another $1 in their pockets. And it is true HR and Excel are pretty much none existant . The best thing you can do is keep looking for another job. Good luck.

You may find them useless but filing a complaint (suggest you do so in writing) is the first step. Belk must record the event as having taken place and Excel is an impartial second party resource who only records and notifies Belk of the grievance, When the store receives it, it MUST be resolved within 24 hours. Regardless, it provides outside documentation of the situation that will be useful if the employee pursues higher recourse.

Start a log, document all events as they happen. When you have recorded enough to show a pattern of being unfairly targeted go your HR or call the Excell line to establish a complaint.
