I want out

My relationship with the manager is relatively good, but I still don't know how good an idea it is to give him some indication that I would like to get out when cuts happen. Does anyone have experience with this? What is the safest way to do it?

Serious answer I know a few techs that asked to go. And they saved some others jobs and moved on to a better place. No matter if you do not want to be apart of a company, marriage etc just go. Chances are the company, spouse etc doesn't want you either!
