I've heard rumors of impending widespread layoffs (Sales, Consulting, Marketing, CS, BD) trickling down from leadership, citing the need to tighten up the org and trim any underperforming or obsolete groups that no longer fit the strategy, to keep ahead in the recession. Have any other Appianites heard similar whispers? With all the other big tech layoffs this month I worry it has some merit.

I was laid off from Appian this morning. HR said it was due to layoffs and what they called “right-sizing” but my managers felt the need to tell my former coworkers I was on a Performance Improvement Plan that I was failing, and that I was a poor performer (both of which are untrue and easily disproven).
Appian laid off 12 persons in marketing this morning 01/11/2023. Roughly 10% of marketing staff. Denise Broady (CMO) was fired recently as well. New Chief Revenue office too.
Do they require to submit a WARN due to the layoffs?
Any idea how widespread it is? When will they announce they laid people off?
@1nsz+1kC7S6fP My friend was in sales/marketing but I've heard rumors that it's a trim in every department.
Wonder what is the severance they offer.
@1har+1kC7S6fP @1rjx+1kC7S6fP what teams are you and your friend on?
Yup. Let go here this morning due to a "reorg" but no actual understanding of how the organization will be rearranging. Pretty sure its economics and they're just trying to maintain optics for the public.
I can confirm that I got layoff.
I can confirm that at least one person I know was informed this morning that they have been laid off. No official announcement yet.
