I am happy for all those who left retail. I have been working here for a relatively long time and I would love nothing more than to be able to do the same, but I don't know how. Any advice? How did you manage to get out of retail?

I got out. Been in retail 30 years. When my store closed I stayed focused and did not accept any position just for convenience. When i was closing, i made some connections with those who were buying fixtures. Use every opportunity you have as if it was an interview. I was lucky to have a few offers from those acquaintances and I took the leap and Im now working at my County Park, I am the Retail Operations Manager. Keep searching beyond your comfort zone.
