Another aspect to all of this that adds some interest is the golf resort trip to Hawaii that cost a great deal of money, money that could have been used to mitigate layoffs.
Read on here about the golf trip and celebrity entertainment for them. It's shameful and would make a great story about the hypocrisy of corp leaders who pretend to care about social responsibility. It's a big story and could go national.

It's looking like there is a strong possibility that this layoff is based on age discrimination. The company has been playing this game for a while and was on the radar already.
