Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Perhaps the point is to constantly keep us in fear

I do not agree with those who think that the fear of cuts increases productivity. Moreover, I think the opposite is happening. However, it seems that the goal of our leadership is exactly that - to constantly keep us in fear of being a target?

Grove came up with the book 'Only the Paranoid Survive'. What a terrible way to create a society! That you can instill a perpetual sense of fear in society in competition. While fear can do something but capitalizing on it to drive the economy is why we are in despair. It is the simple reason that we come apart in human values. This may be an entirely different topic but the ruthlessness of it shows in the economy.

Exactly right @1oru+1k9CwYH8

Managers aren't nearly as evil as you think. They want the company to succeed. Their pay depends on earnings going up. Layoffs are no fun and it may be true that the ELT has made terrible mistakes in the past that are now causing the layoffs.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
