With stock price taking a dive every day. Retention bonus doesn't look that nice especially after March payout.

@1g9 I’m surprised Jabba is in the position he is in given that the school on his resume/cv is an online for-profit school.

@1am So true, that’s why a lot of SC “techs” were axed as opposed to the Fiber/Enterprise techs.

@1fx That's every promotion that’s occurred under Jabba, including Jabba’s promotion.

Nepotism is not just family connection—it can also mean friends. There are multiple supervisors/managers/directors here at CC that I know hired their friends in lieu of competent individuals.

We would be in a much better situation if CC was a meritocracy, instead of hiring and promoting your friends.

Here comes the tech slinging p-o battle of who is better.

Even funnier, in markets where there are no SC “techs” , fiber is able to do the job but SC can't do fiber nor enterprise. Wonder who’s going to take care of SC/DAS in those markets.

@1am Then, nepotism provides the structural support for a system where competence is secondary to connection, creating fertile ground for meaningless roles to flourish within a corporation.

Because of this dynamic at Crown Castle, when external, talented individuals are hired and display competence, the internal folks with personal connections begin to feel outshined and threatened by the people who provide actual value.

@19g Most Small Cell guys are in roles that are known as “box tickers” or “taskmasters” that give the illusion that something useful is being done when it is not. They are involved in something known as “busywork” which are activities that have no real purpose but are done to occupy time or give the appearance of being busy.

Nepotism and family ties are fundamentally linked to the existence of these "bullsh-t jobs" because it prioritizes personal connections over qualifications, leading to the hiring and promotion of under-qualified individuals who may then fill or create positions of little to no actual value.

@dw+1k97tjg8z 100% A company can’t take a 7B loss and not roll more heads.

@ek+1k97tjg8z Funny how abunch of SC guys wanted the same title and pay as Fiber guys even though all they did was change parts and contracted out to GCs anything technical. Fiber never did that.

@er Some of us have been instructed not to help each other. Sad times…

After finding out people going to one place vs the other, it is definitely d-mb. There is no thought put into what is happening. I would really like to understand who made the decisions as they are DAF. The best thing that can be done now is to help those where you can. I hate to say it but this is a Crown Nice thing (original version). There are those that we care about and it is sh**y if we don't help them. Last ditch effort to show our family what it should be. I am sure there are those that DGAF. Not happy about the outcome.

Funny how a bunch of fiber guys being transferred to small sell operations a day before the announcement of who goes where..
Upper management trying to pad the workforce headed to EQT to make it look like they manage more people than they really do…

There will be layoffs eqt to. You think a PE firm isn’t going to cut people after a few months. Think about all the different titles that will go over director with 1 report managers with no direct reports district mangers doing the same job as a supervisor. The trend is to flatten an organization now. Look at all the layoffs out there it’s middle management. You have job security for 8-12 months. Start looking before March. Then get your bonus and get out.

The reality is there is a pretty good chance of layoffs for everybody, including those who stay at Crown. Once the sale is over, Crown will reevaluate every position in the company. They will take a hard look to see if your job can be automated or outsourced. The days of Crown having massive departments for jobs that can be handled by a few people will come to an end. Best of luck everyone.

Are they giving the voluntary severance option? Please fill me in, I left CC in March ‘25

Yes they do. Zayo does not know the network. CCF people won’t get laid off for awhile. Zayo will need them for the transition to keep it smooth then there will be layoffs. Stay for the retention. Annual bonus, retention, then layoff severance.

@a9+1k97tjg8z Anyone who takes that money in lieu of getting off the sinking ship, is taking a big gamble. EQT people not so much, but anyone going to Zayo is on a su----e mission. Zayo DOES NOT NEED ANY of the CCF people.

No one would voluntarily leave before the retention bonus.

Anyone who plans to stay and collect on the retention bonus should rethink that. If you have the opportunity to make your exit, take it.
