Thread regarding General Atomics layoffs

Severence fund notification

I just got a packet in the mail explaining that the severance fund details are available upon request. Apparently, employees are worried that there might not be enough money in the severance fund to cover the next round of layoffs.
An interested fact: California Labor Board requires notification (https://edd.ca.gov/en/Jobs_and_Training/Layoff_Services_WARN) of all mass layoffs 60 days in advance - this is public information. However, instead of publicizing its layoffs in advance, GA just gives everyone 3 months additional severance and publishes the notification at the time of layoffs. Good business practice I guess.
