Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Only want fresh college kids. Very hard to be promoted.

I have worked for PepsiCo fo many years. They get move or get rid of any mangers with no more than two years in one position. They always have hug layoffs to bring in grease blood when colleges let out or they graduate from college. They are cheap labor then get rid of most but not all. You only get two years in your position.

That's not the case in my group. We dump experienced Americans and try to replace them with overseas Indians and Mexicans for less money. We're marginally successful in doing that. We also do whatever is necessary to increase our gender and race diversity metrics on the scorecard. It's transparent and pretty pathetic, which is one reason we score badly on OHS in fair hiring/promotions

If it's a job that fresh college kids can do, why overpay anyone else to do it? Pepsi was run for decades by people who didn't finish high school, and is it that different today? Most of the rainmaking goods sell themselves, and most of the important stuff is automated You can even outsource most functions like finance and accounting to India or Eastern Europe nowadays. If people aren't coming up with me products that sell or some genius marketing that can also be outsourced, honestly, who needs em? Any fresh grad will do, and the company is doing just fine.
