Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Will I be in the 25%?

I joined BNY in Lake Mary this year as an associate full stack engineer. Got a "meets expectations" during my mid year. Will I be an easy target for the 25% of employees that are being marked as "below expectations" for the end of year?

On the other side, how are bonuses if I get a meets or exceeds? I've heard $1000, 1500, and $3,000 from others I work with.

Do your work.

Play the game.

Head down.

You’ll do fine.

Engineering manager here. You'll get a 10% bonus as an analyst and associate. Senior associates can get 15%. You'll be fine for this year.

Your career goal should be to make senior associate next year, VP in 3 years or less, then SVP in 3 years or less. Doesn't have to be BNY; go hope across banks/tech to make it happen.

As a first year associates, you’re probably ok especially since you are a meets expectations. Every year is different. Lake Mary is built on bubble gum, duck tape and lies. No one has a long career at BNY, regardless of location. Oh and don’t let the talking heads, new cafeteria and gym fool you.

I don't think so, they are really struggling to hire full stack engineers here.

Bny rarely allows exceeds to be given out. Even if they promote someone they don’t give out exceeds. Most will get meets unless they are being targeted for a layoff. It’s just how this company rolls. It’s an awful morale busting place to work.
