Ford has more than 10k employees on H1B/H4/OPT Visas, it's the largest Visa bag holder Automaker in US.
Time to change the tag line,

Its not just Ford its all across tech and especially in SE Michigan. H1B have been stealing jobs from the US for decades and I'm glad the administration is finally starting to take notice!
Back when I was working at a German supplier during the outbreak of Covid, all US citizen employees were forced to take every third week off for months. All the H1B were allowed to continue to work full time. Then when they did layoffs later in the year, all H1B were protected form layoffs and they fired all Americans.
The ironic thing is H1B Visa holders drive foreign autos and rarely drive Ford. Ever take a look at the parking lot at iTek back in the day?
@e0 yes! I was surprised we allowed this at a high level. Truly disappointing when so many are out of work. He's definitely enjoying the LL3 US pay....the truth eventually comes out.
Love it.
I knew one LL4 who was excited about off shoring. Mother tongue and easy promotion in his eyes hiring engineers in India. I think it is the person now who is replacing Americans. He laid off many people to replace them. Still at Ford ...
There's a department that hired in an H1B as their LL3. This guy has since created an entire staff that is nothing but H1Bs residing in India. He goes back to India every 6 weeks or so. You can't tell me there wasn't a single US citizen who could have done the job. And no, the H1Bs haven't delivered anything.
Hey now let's not get crazy there's some really good project managers who are H1B's
They must be good because every stupid project that I get pulled into at the last second has one of them leading it.
Doesn't matter how many times in a single week you can tell them something..... on the go no go meeting they're still coming up with the wrong information and then you sound like an a hole when you have to chew them out before their little project goes belly up.
But what do I know I'm not very diverse
Yeah, my whole dept (before I left Ford) plus the LL5 was basically almost all HIB’s. At the time, I had no idea what an HIB was. No wonder no one could speak/read/ or write proper English and there are so many recalls.
Yes it is and no one can change it!
@cf It's a big company, there are weirdos everywhere.
In my section, in my department I was diversity.
Then they threw me out.
@b7 Sh---y employees are the number one cause of corporate failures.
@a6 That's the rule, you have to post hirings of H1Bs. So everyone knows company is hiring an H1B. They have to post salary info also etc.
The really sad part is that they laid off most of the people who really knew and loved cars and trucks. They replaced them with people who were just looking for a job. So all of that knowledge and passion walked out the door along with the best part of the corporate culture. Not that Ford’s corporate culture was anything to write home about but at least it had good engineering. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. RIP Ford. Cause of death was su----e.
Well, Dearborn, DF the phone guy and the "low cost" mentality....so....oh yeah, KG "we don't care" guy... Why is anyone surprised? It will turn out to be the end of the company.
That’s what building 3 in Dearborn was before COVID. They even advertised the H1B openings in the hallway bulletin boards. Thought I was in another country.
