I got let go today (Wednesday). My manager put a meeting on my calendar for 8:30 am for 30 min and asked I come to the office for it. Noticed my VP was also invited to the call. I came in and they let me know and gave me the paperwork. Was only about 15 minutes.

@az I'm a White male. I left before the 2024 layoff because there were too many stupid people working there.

I remember back in the 90's, at 8:00 one Thursday morning we were all instructed over the PA system to remain at our desks until further notice. We all sat and watched as the managers walked through the cube farm, taking people away one at a time. They walked them out to the lobby conference rooms, and then out the door. All of us in 111 just sat at our desks, and waited to get picked off. Talk about stressful. At about 9:30 AM, we were given the "all clear", like we were excited about getting back to work. That was around the time that AM was quoted as saying that the problem with Xerox was that there were too many white males working there. We knew then that that was the beginning of the end...

I was released on Feb 29, 2024. The process is very mechanical. You are probably will receive a meeting notice from your manager for an 1:1, typically 15 minutes either face to face or TEAM meeting. Your manager probably will read from the script as he or she is provided a "talk track" from HR. Your manager will go over the steps that you need to take and you will be receiving an exit package. My termination meeting took only around 5 minutes. You may or may not receive a notice period. In either way, this will be effective immediately and your S3 access will be terminated by the end of the day at the latest. My S3 was terminated 10 minutes after the meeting. From this point on, your future communication with Xerox will be done through Xerox benefit center, not your manager. You need to sign and send the exit package to the e-mail provided in the package as nothing will move forward until this is done. If you have a Xerox US pension plan (RIGP), then you have to find out from the Xerox Benefit Center what the current process is to initiate a benefit distribution request. The most important thing is to understand your health insurance coverage such as using COBRA to cover the gap and allow you time to do special enrolment. Hope this helps and best of luck to all of you who are impacted by this action.

When I got laid off in September 2022, I literally got a phone call from my manager at 7 in the morning saying hey were coming to pick up your van and tools, please have them ready.

Tell tale sign is a 15 minute 1:1 from your leadership, usually on relatively short notice. Might be your manager, or your skip manager. They usually try to get through them in the AM.
