Thread regarding General Atomics layoffs

My home.

Love that GA supports a 9/80 schedule and one of the only companies that still have a pension plan. Great place to work and feel supported.

I left GA before the big layoff in 2020, I still talk to a few former coworkers and they stay its a sh-t show in some departments.

GA is a great employer if you are looking for an employer who care more about just the bottom line. GA will promote by taking gender, se-ual orientation and minority status into consideration. GA does not simple promote by performance witch helps build equity and diversity in the company. GA is forgiving and if you fall asleep at work it’s okay! If you’re never on budget it’s okay! And if you are a manager with horrible retention rates it’s okay AS LONG as you are the correct gender, se-ual orientation, or minority status… but if you are the wrong status GA is a very difficult place to stay working at bc nothing makes sense when it comes to promotions or compensation…. Also, you are greatly underpaid when factoring in a 40 hrs work week… but no worries no one ever works 40 hrs

It’s actually a 3/20… bc most GA employees work 20 hrs every 2 weeks! And I agree GA is a great place to work or not work.

If you can call it a pension plan any more, it was totally gutted a couple years ago. Used to be 7%, now it's almost nothing.
