Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Phase 1 complete, phase 2 will happen in February?

I heard this was just the start, does anyone know anything about phase 2?

What happens following layoffs?? Re-org.
What follows that? More layoffs!
Europe is going through the process now… impact coming Jan-Feb.
But phase 2 will follow, it won’t end there.

"Voluntary" retirement. Hasn't there ever been some valuable person who said "sc--w you, I quit NOW"?

If so, that person is my hero.

There is no second phase. The February and May dates are for the people who accepted the voluntary retirement. They want to make sure people with knowledge and longevity are around until their replacement is trained, etc. I know a couple people who are crucial positions that are leaving in February and May.

@pxs+1k6cTZks hahahaha NY will destroy Gatorade…the only reason the company stays afloat is because of Frito Lay. NY is a sh-t show…

If you work for PepsiCo and do not know what GBS is then you are not paying attention. How soon before they unload Purchase?

Yes, this restructuring will continue through February. It’s even called that in severance docs…November through February

Gatorade DSD was always on the cards.... nobody should be surprised. It is a primary reason for Barrington closure, to seperate the high performing Gatorade unit from chronically underperformed Juice+ unit. While Gatorade was always a semi-DSD and grew leaps and bounds in the last decade, it was a beast that belonged to NY among other giant soda brands.

You can't train experience or problem solving. GBS hires are smart and capable (I was replaced by them, good people), but getting thrown into broken systems. Management just kicking the same can down the street, it's been a mess for well more than a decade and every few years they try and fail somewhere else. Why do they expect to move next after offshoring everything?

Correct, the idea is for GBS to take over most of the costly and repetitive tasks. The cost in Mexico and/or India is just a small fraction of what its in the USA

I wish the news would report what is really happening. Outsourcing to India and Mexico.
